Murderous fugitive Ellis Colton is wounded during a bank robbery and narrowly manages to escape. He abandons his car and hides in John Alvins barn, but Alvin becomes aware of his presence. He subsequently learns that a $10,000 reward is offered for Colotns capture.
Despite the advice of Dan Mathews, Alvin foolishly enlists fellow farmers George Taylor and Vance Wells to attempt to capture Colton and collect the reward. The attempt is unsuccessful and Wells is seriosuly wounded. Dan learns what has happened from Edna Alvin and enters the barn, ultimately finding himself in a fistfight with Cotlon.
Dan prevails, and Edna is pleasantly surprised when she lerans the details of the reward offer.
