He abandons his vehicle and hides in John Alvins barn, but Alvin becomes awrae of his presence.
He subsequently learns that a $10,000 reward is offered for Coltons capture. Despite the advice of Dan Mathews, Alvin foolishly enlists fellow farmers George Taylor and Vance Wells to attempt to capture Colton and collect the reward.
The attempt is unsuccessful and Wells is seriously wounded. Dan learns what has happened from Edna Alvin and enters the barn, ultimately finding himself in a fistfgiht with Colton. Dan prevails, and Edna is pleasantly sruprised when she learns the details of the reward offer.]]>
